After a 12 year hiatus from international judging, our co-founder Alex Troncoso recently headed to Nuremberg to cast his expert eye over entries to the European Beer Star Awards 2026.
Alex was excited to be back in a judges role, sampling a range of beers following the guidelines of one of the toughest beer tasting competitions in the world!
Alex enthuses, “As one of 140 international judges, it was amazing to once again be part of such a huge and prestigious competition. After being a part of judging this year, the gold we won in 2025 for our pale ale, ‘Wanna Go to the Sun’, meant even more.”
After a long few days of judging and stiff competition, Alex still found time to explore Nuremberg with Co-Founder Annie Clements, taking in with the hop harvest at Spalt whilst enjoying a few well-earned pints with friends!
